The car that Tupac Shakur was infamously shot inside is now being sold for $1.5 million.
Known for its tragic history, the 1996 BMW 750iL is on the market through MomentsInTime.com, where its dealer is listed as Nick Alexander Imports. After more than 90,000 miles and several owners over the years, it has reportedly been restored, leaving imprints from the shootout visible in the car’s door panels.
Shakur’s famed last picture also features the car with ‘Pac in the passenger’s seat, while Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight sat behind the wheel. Shortly after the photo was taken, the vehicle was riddled with bullets in a still-unresolved shooting in Las Vegas on Sept. 7, 1996.
Days after the shooting, on Sept. 13, Tupac was pronounced dead at nearby University Medical Center. He was 25.
It’s been a little over 20 years since 2Pac’s death, but he’s remained iconic and thus, Shakur memorabilia has become lucrative for some. Last year, one of his letters was auctioned off at $172,000.
His legacy continues to glow in other ways, too. A Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me is set to hit theaters on June 16, a day that would have marked the late rapper’s 46th birthday.
