The philanthropic arm of Melcom Group of companies, Melcom Care Foundation has Donated Modern Washroom Facilities to schools in Tema and Ashaiman.
The project is aimed at bringing relief to many deprived schools in Ghana in the delivery of water and sanitation services.
Director of Communications at Melcom Group Mr. Godwin Avenorgbo noted that “the distribution to various schools in Ghana is meant for use by pupils and students from primary to the tertiary levels of the educational ladder.
He also noted that their commitment is to effect positive change in the areas of health and education which are the two main pillars of their corporate social responsibility.
The Ashaiman Basic A and B school received three of the facilities while Tema Community Five Number One Basic School, and Kotobabi Number Two TMA Primary School were presented with five fabricated mechanized toilet facilities each.
The facilities are installed with a raised concrete platform for mounting, a portable water closet, bio digester, 2,200 liters overhead water tank and water pump with booster.
