Nominations for 2020 Mobo Awards revealed

The organizers of Music of Black Origin have released the 2020 awards nominations with the event set to be held live on December 7, 2020. The awards will be held virtually on YouTube.

The nominees are led by Rap titan Nines, who picked up a whopping five nominations for Best Male Act, Album of The Year, Video of The Year, Best Hip-Hop Act and Best Album from 2017 to 2019.

Lianne La Havas, Mahalia, and Tiana Major9 pick up 3 nominations each, including Best Female Act and Best R&B/Soul Act. The organizers have included two new categories which Best Media Personality and Best Performance in A TV Show/ Film

Ghana’s foremost dancehall acts Shatta wale and Stonebwoy will battle it out for the best African act category. The two has been nominated alongside 10 other African music acts such as Burna boy, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy DML, Rema, Davido, Master KG, Adekunle Gold, NSG, Afro B, and Wizkid. The awards will be held on Wednesday, December 9,2020
