Christmas is always a time of good cheer, and a Jamaican Christmas is particularly special for Jamaican people. But what Christmas sounds like in some places may vastly differ from in others.
Christmas is a different vibe altogether. Folks in most communities are known to not listen to Christmas carols, so one Jamaican producer says he is creating an album of Christmas music to ensure everyone, especially those in the ghettos have a good Christmas this year.
Sean ‘Contractor’ Edwards, Producer of the album says inspiration for the album comes from the fact that during Christmas time, most people, especially those in the Ghettos prefer hardcore dancehall music over traditional Christmas carols. The album is expected to be heavily marketed in Africa – particularly Ghana and Nigeria. Two artistes from Ghana are featured- Shatta Wale and a female Raybekah, who, Edwards says, is an outstanding talent.
